MCBF volunteer training opportunities

 

Manchester Children’s Book Festival returns this summer and needs student volunteers! Are you happy, enthusiastic and committed? Then come along to our training sessions and learn how to be part of an amazing team, become a trained storyteller and possibly run your own arts and crafts stall at the family fun day!!

training dates

Team building training:

12/2/15, 3-5pm GM Atrium

Join the 2015 Manchester Children’s Book Festival Volunteering team for an interactive action packed afternoon of activities and training. Students will learn how to work as a team as they are challenged with some fun problem solving activities. Activities involve tents, sparkly curtains and felt tip pens. Intrigued? Then sign up to find out more, meet fellow volunteers and gain some valuable skills.’

Storytelling training

26/2/15, 1-3pm GM 304

‘The storytelling tent is back again for the Manchester Children’s Book Festival and will be on tour visiting your local libraries and schools! Join the amazing team of student volunteers and learn how to become a trained storyteller helping transport children through the magical journeys of your favourite childhood book.’

Family Fun Day training

30/4/15, 1-4pm GM 223

‘Ever tried making a monkey out of a sock? Royal crowns out of egg cartons and pipe cleaners? Join the Manchester Children’s Book Festival team of student volunteers and learn how you can help and make felt finger puppets, sea monkey masks and many more at their arts and crafts stall. Bring your ideas and they will supply the googly eyes and glitter! There is even a chance of running your own craft stall at the family fun day extravaganza!’
