The Manchester Children’s Book Festival (MCBF) is set to return again this summer and is now an annual event!!!
This year’s festival will run from June 26th to July 5th and will be headlined by Matt Brown, author of the Compton Valance series and hugely popular presenter on Nickelodeon UK.
They are currently recruiting for volunteers to help with the many trailblazing events as well as the main festival. If you are a current student, staff or even alumni from Manchester Metropolitan University you can sign up to be a volunteer.
In order to volunteer you must have attended a training session. The FINAL training sessions are available in April.
This training session will not only challenge and teach you to work as a team but will incorporate some of the experience of a ‘real’ MCBF tent situation, allowing you as a volunteer to get a sense of what actually happens when you take the magical storytelling tent out somewhere in preparation for the festival.
Ever tried making a monkey out of a sock? Royal crowns out of egg cartons and pipe cleaners? Then this training session may be for you! Join the team of volunteers for an afternoon of learning how you can help and make felt finger puppets, sea monkey masks and many more at their arts and crafts stall. Bring your ideas and they will supply the googly eyes and glitter! There is even a chance of running your own craft stall at the Family Fun Day extravaganza!
To register your interest please either sign up via MMU Futures or alternatively email email@example.com so we can add you to the list.
