Climate change is one of the greatest challenges we are currently facing and it will affect all aspects of society.
As a result, employers are increasingly realising the importance of employing graduates with an understanding of environmental and social issues in order to cope with future challenges.
By attending this workshop, you will gain an understanding of:
- The basic science behind climate change
- Social equity & climate change
- What you can do to act on climate change
- Strategies and skills for communicating action on climate change
Carbon Literacy training consists of two parts:
E-learning- ‘Carbon Literacy Knowledge’
You should complete an e-learning course before you are eligible to attend the Carbon Literacy Workshop. It is an interactive course and provide you with a good understanding of climate change and the science behind it.
The course takes approximately 3 hours to complete. You do not need to complete the course in one go, but can stop and start at points convenient to you.
Carbon Literacy Workshop
A 4-hour workshop led by our Carbon Literacy facilitators. In this fun and engaging session, you will learn about what you can do to act on climate change as well as how you can persuade others to do the same.
Qualifications and recognition
You will receive an official Carbon Literacy Certificate and 6 silver points towards the MMU Futures Award for completing the training.
