Volunteers are needed to help spruce up the sensory garden featuring plants and herbs referenced in Shakespearean plays for patients at the hospital to enjoy at the Royal Manchester Children’s Hospital. This project will be done in partnership with Unilever.
As well as planting plants that the children can smell and touch, volunteers are also going to be brightening up the area by repainting the existing planters and gazebos. Volunteers will also be adding to the sensory element of the garden by adding a variety of sensory items to the planters for the children to touch whenthey spend time in the garden both in and out of lesson times. This outdoor space can then be utilised as an alternative classroom helping reconnect children to the natural world and assist in their healing process.
