Volunteering opportunity with Manchester Literature Festival


The Manchester Children’s Book Festival (MCBF) Tent will be making an appearance at the 2016 Manchester Literature Festival‘s Family Reading Day on Saturday 22 October

Join MCBF for a day of fictional fun as popular children’s authors, illustrators and performers bring stories to life.

Activities on the day include:

  • Market Place for free arts and crafts activities
  • Interactive storytelling of Clangers: The Brilliant Surprise and make your own planet or comet presented by Alastair Watson
  • Illustration workshop with Nick Sharratt, whose characters have appeared in books by Jacqueline Wilson, Julia Donaldson and Jeremy Strong as well as his own.
  • Performance of Sir Charlie Stinky Socks with Kristina Stephenson.
  • Popular CBeebies presenter Cerrie Burnell will introduce her latest story about a little girl and her magic umbrella, Harper and the Circus of Dreams.
  • Bear hunt with free Story Time Teddy Bear’s Picnic

Please note that due to limited spaces priority will be given to Faculty of Arts and Humanities Make a Difference Ambassadors
